hi, i’m kim, and i love photography! i’m just a regular gal with a camera and a creative eye who loves to document and celebrate life. whether i’m photographing your wedding, your child’s first birthday or the lives of folks halfway around the globe, I strive to convey and preserve the human experience with every image i take.

what makes me me?   well, i value true emotion. honesty is just about everything. a sense of humor can save your life and i believe laughter is the best medicine. i also thought the last episode of the sopranos was brilliant and i’ll thumb wrestle anyone to the death if they care to declare otherwise. that being said, i also value free expression.

i currently live, work and play in sunny San Diego. i have had the pleasure of living all over the country, on both coasts and smack dab in the middle. after years of shoveling snow and adjusting plans around storms, the sunny skies and steady temperatures have finally drawn me out west where I can now shoot all year round. i still travel back to boston and DC in the fall and spring to shoot weddings and play outside in the colors that i miss.

I have been taking photos for as long as I can remember and am so grateful to have finally recognized and given in to my passion. “choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”  i finally get it.  i’m fortunate to have another passion as well. i hold a masters degree in nutrition, and when i’m not shooting, i’m probably researching something geeky and helping people live better through healthy lifestyle choices.

and when you can’t find me working at all, you’re still likely to see me with a camera in hand on some remote, dusty road in Africa, Asia or the Middle East, capturing my own impressions of the world as it goes by. i travel with every chance i get and credit the many wonderful people i’ve met around the world for transforming my life and teaching me so many of the values i hold  today.   i specifically credit ten months in africa with my unique ability to survive without toilet paper.
